Drew Brees confident he will return from thumb injury quicker than expected
New Orleans Saints fan might not have to wait six-to-eight weeks for the return of their no.1 quarterback.
Drew Brees, who recent underwent surgery to repair a thumb injury, was told by team doctors that he could miss up to two months of action. Well based off how the recovery is going, and how he is feeling with the progress he’s made behind the scenes, it wouldn’t be farfetched to expect him back on the field quicker than that.
“As far as the timetable for getting back, though, they say six-to-eight weeks. I think I can beat that, but I’m just gonna take it one week at a time and see how things go,” said Brees.
The 40-year old sustained the injury to his right hand early in the Saints’ 25-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 action on September 15.
Brees is currently in his 14th season with the franchise, and playing in his 19th NFL season.
