Russell Westbrook buys 650 laptops for students in Houston to help during corona shutdown
Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook is doing his part to help out those in need during these tough times.
With schools being shifted to online, many less fortunate students cannot afford to buy their own computer to get through the semester. Well through his ‘Why Not?’ Foundation, the 31-year old has decided to donated 651 laptops to children in the Houston area.
“I’m extremely excited to be able to collaborate with Comp-U-Dopt and find ways to be able to impact the youth immediately,” said Westbrook while beign skyped into a press conference with the city’s mayor.
“It’s something that I’m very, very passionate about through my foundation, and I’m just trying to find a way — especially now — to be able to bridge the gap and give kids access to another way of learning, through computers. This allows them to be able to continue their education, especially from home. I’m happy to be a part of it.”
