The New York Yankees just bolstered their offensive in a big way by getting themselves a power left handed bat that will take advantage of the short porch in right field at Yankee stadium.

The team has finalized a trade to acquire star outfielder Joey Gallo
left-hander Joely Rodríguez from the Texas Rangers in exchange for a collection of top 30 prospects in the Yankees’ farm system: infielders Josh Smith (ranked 14th) and Ezequiel Duran (ranked 15th), second baseman/outfielder Trevor Hauver (ranked 23rd), and right-handed pitcher Glenn Otto (ranked 28th).

Gallo, 27, is in the midst of one of the best seasons of his career where he has posted 25 home runs, 55 RBI and an .869 OPS through 96 games.

“That’s a guy that you want in your clubhouse, a guy that shows up every day ready to play,” said Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge.

“He’s going to fight until the very end. If that’s true, and it comes true that we get him, I think it’s going to be something special for our team.”
