Brewers sign star Christian Yelich to long-term extension worth more than $200 million
The Milwaukee Brewers have backed up the brinks truck for the 2018 National League MVP
The team announced that they have signed superstar outfielder Christian Yelich to a seven-year contract extension that will be worth more than $215 million if you include the two remaining years on his current deal.
The 28-year old, who was initially acquired by the Brewers in a trade with the Miami Marlins in January 2018, has put up two incredible seasons in his tenure with the franchise.
Despite missing a large portion of the 2019 campaign due to a broken knee cap, he managed to post a .329 batting average, 1.100 OPS, 44 homers, 97 RBI and 30 stolen bases to go a long with a jaw-dropping 7.1 WAR in 130 games and 580 plate appearances.
The franchise is expected to make the deal official later this week.
