Blue Jays extend manager Charlie Montoyo through the 2023 season
It looks like the Toronto Blue Jays will be keeping Charlie Montoyo around for at least another couple of years.
The team confirmed that they have inked their manager to a multi-year contract extension that will run through the 2023 season and include team options for 2024 and 2025.
The 56-year old was initially hired in October 2018 after spending nearly 20 years working through the Tampa Bay Rays’ minor league system.
Over three seasons with Montoyo at the helm, the Blue Jays have posted a combined 190-194 regular season record and a postseason appearance during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.
