Less than a day after being eliminated by the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Zdeno Chara has a lot to contemplate regarding his NHL future.

The fact is he is up there in age at 43 years old, and has already accomplished more in his career than most aspiring players will ever dream of doing. So how much is he truly motivated to continue?

He was asked following Monday’s loss about whether he will play again next season.

“I haven’t made that decision…I obviously just finished the game and I’m going to be open-minded.” said Chara.

The six-time All-Star has won a Stanley Cup (2011), Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award (2011), Norris Trophy (2009), and amassed 205 goals, 451 assists and a plus-240 rating over a span of 1553 games and 22 NHL seasons.
