Vladimir Tarasenko undergoes shoulder surgery; will be re-evaluated in five months

Well this certainly came out of nowhere.

On a quiet Monday afternoon, the St. Louis Blues announced that star forward Vladimir Tarasenko has undergone surgery on his injured left shoulder, which is expected to sideline him for a minimum of five months.

The 27-year old Russian sustained the injury early in the team’s 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on October 24.

The 2010 first round pick is in his eighth season with the Blues. He has posted three goals, seven assists and a minus-2 rating in 10 games this season.
