Taylor Hall is in no rush to agree on a long-term deal with the New Jersey Devils.

According to his agent Darren Ferris, he feels no pressure to sign an extension this summer as he heads into the final year of his current contract before he can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020.

“It’s a decision the player will have to make in time, and there’s no pressure into making it. It’s just a discussion that is going to be ongoing.” said Ferris, who admits that he communicates regularly with Devils management.

Hall was limited to just 33 games in 2018/19 due to ongoing issues with his injured knee. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in February, finishing the season with 11 goals, 26 assists and a minus-6 rating.
