Lindholm, Bergeron and Barkov named 2022 Selke Trophy finalists
It’s official!
The NHL has unveiled the finalists for the 2022 Frank J. Selke Trophy:
- Calgary Flames center Elias Lindholm
- Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron
- Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov
The Award is given annually to the forward who dominates the defensive aspect of the game.
Barkov most recently won the Award last season, but Bergeron has a long history of taking home the hardware. He has been a Selke Trophy winner on four separate occasions throughout his 18-year NHL career, and last won it back in 2017/18.
Lindholm has never won the award but he set a precedent for being the first Selke finalist coming out of the Flames organization since Craig Conroy was nominated in 2001/02.
