Leafs waive Nick Ritchie

The Nick Ritchie era in Toronto has come to an aprupt end.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they have put the struggling forward on waivers, ending his time with the club after less than half of a full season.

The 26-year old, who signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Leafs this offseason, was expected to fill the void left by Zach Hyman’s departure but has mightily struggled to fit in with his teammates.

He has posted just one goal and seven assists in 30 games this season.
