Leafs are replacing Freddie Andersen with ex-Hurricanes netminder Petr Mrazek
It appears that the Toronto Maple Leafs have found another goalie to pair with Jack Campbell.
According to reports, the team is officially moving on from Frederik Andersen and signing veteran goalie Petr Mrazek to a three-year contract worth an annual average value of $3.8 million when free agency officially opens this afternoon.
Mrazek, 29, had spent the past three seasons of his career with the Hurricanes organization. Through 275 career regular season games, he has posted a 128-96-31 record, 2.59 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
Meanwhile, Andersen is expected to sign with Mrazek’s former team: the Carolina Hurricanes. So essentially this is a swap of goaltenders between the two franchises.
