Flames avoid arbitration with Sam Bennett, re-sign him to two-year deal
Sam Bennett is staying with the Calgary Flames for at least a couple more years.
The team announced that they have signed the 23-year-old forward to a two-year, $5.1 million contract extension with an average annual value of $2.55 million.
The fourth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft has yet to live up to expectations so far in his NHL career, but has carved himself a nice little role as a consistently productive third line winger.
In four-plus NHL seasons, he has posted a combined 55 goals, 61 assists, 264 penalty minutes and a minus-52 rating.
