Devils win the Dougie Hamilton sweepstakes

The New Jersey Devils have made a huge splash by picking up the biggest fish in the free agent pond in the early hours of free agency.

The team announced that they have signed veteran defenseman Dougie Hamilton to a seven-year contract worth over $60 million in total value.

The 27-year old Toronto native, who has spent the past three seasons with the Hurricanes, posted 10 goals, 32 assists and a plus-20 rating in 55 games in 2020/21.
