Canadiens forward Mathieu Perreault expected to miss 2-3 weeks with eye injury
As if things aren’t already bad enough for the Montreal Canadiens…
Following the team’s 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, the team announced that veteran forward Mathieu Perreault will be sidelined for a minimum of 2-3 weeks with an eye injury.
According to reports, the 33-year old began to experience double vision. A visit to team doctors determined he had a detached retina in his right eye and was diagnosed with a condition called Lattice Retinal Degeneration. He underwent a successful procedure to repair the damaged eye, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Perreault has posted three goals and an assist in eight games this season.
The Canadiens are dead last in the Atlantic Division with a 2-7-0 record.
