Blues ink defenceman Marco Scandella to four-year extension
The league may be on pause, but that isn’t stopping the St. Louis Blues from getting to work.
The team confirmed Thursday that they have signed veteran defenceman Marco Scandella to a four-year, $13.1 million contract extension that holds an average annual value of $3.275 million.
The 30-year old, who was initially acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens during the trade deadline on February 18th, had recorded just one assist but was a plus-4 in 11 games and provided the Blues with a big, reliable presence on their blue line that they could plug just about anywhere when necessary.
He also appeared in 51 games split between the Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres earlier in 2019/2020, posting four goals, eight assists and a plus-10 rating during that span.
