What’s going on with Jonathan Toews?

The Chicago Blackhawks captain was sidelined throughout the entire 2020/21 NHL season due to the side effects associated with chronic immune response syndrome. He’s been through a lot of hardships, but it appears that it is finally time for him to return to the ice…at some point in the future.

The Blackhawks are optimistic that he will be back, but aren’t rushing anything.

“We’re all hopeful that he continues on his path and training and feeling better. Nothing’s derailed that,” said Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman.

“But with what he’s gone through, we don’t know where it’s going to be. So here we are today, things are looking good and that’s our thought moving forward.”

Toews also spoke to the media about his potential return,

“I’m excited to get back to the United Center and play and just go out there and have fun…I think my best is going to come through and I’m excited to get back in front of the fans.”

The 33-year old posted 18 goals and 42 assists in 70 games back in 2019/2020, which was the last season he played.
