Canada soccer star Alphonso Davies named CONCACAF men’s player of the year

Canadian soccer star Alphonso Davies has been rewarded after helping lead the national team to qualify to the first World Cup since 1986.

The 21-year old Bayern Munich fullback has been named the CONCACAF men’s player of the year for the 2021 calendar year due to his impressive performance while representing his country during World Cup qualifying.

Davies participated in 13 men’s World Cup qualfying games in 2021, recording five goals and eight assists during that span. The most memorable highlight was his jaw-dropping goal that made headlines across the world when he scored during Canada’s 4-1 win over Panama on November 13.
