According to reports, the team has signed the all-star shortstop to a seven-year, $132 million contract extension with an opt-out clause that can be exercised after the 2022 season.

The 26-year Aruba native, who was initially signed as an amateur free agent back in 2009, has posted a combined .283 batting average, .342 on-base percentage, 75 homers, 386 RBI and 49 stolen bases over a span of six-plus seasons and 763 regular season games.
