In news that 0.001% of people ever expected to happen, Tom Brady has officially announced on his social media accounts that he will be leaving the New England Patriots, the only franchise he has ever been with throughout his legendary NFL career.
He posted a message thanking all those within the organization that contributed to his success over the years.
The 42-year old won six Super Bowls, four Super Bowl MVPs, and all but cemented his legacy at the best quarterback in NFL history during his 20 seasons and 285 game stint with the New England Patriots from 2001-2019.
No word yet on where Brady will end up signing, but it has been speculated by NFL insiders that both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers have each been aggressive in their pursuit of them, and either one or both of them have offered him a contract that eclipses the $30 million mark.
According to reports, the Green Bay Packers have finalized their star cornerback to a lucrative four-year, $84 million contract extension that pays him an annual average value of $21 million.
The deal includes a massive $30 million signing bonus, which is the record for largest signing bonus giving to a defensive back.
The 25-year old, who was selected 18th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, has amassed 184 combined tackles, 44 passes defended, five interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles over a span of four seasons and 48 games with the franchise.
He is also a one-time Pro Bowl and was selected to a Second-team All-Pro in 2020.
The NFL is finally coming to Germany next season, and the league’s biggest star will grace them with his presence.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to take on the Seattle Seahawks at 9:30 a.m. ET on November 13 at Allianz Arena in Munich. The stadium is home to Bundesliga powerhouse FC Bayern.
The league also announced a handful of other international games in multiple countries.
United Kingdom:
New Orleans Saints vs Minnesota Vikings on October 2, and Green Bay Packers vs New York Giants on October 9 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Tottenham.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Denver Broncos on October 30 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Mexico:
Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers on November 21 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City for Monday Night Football.
The Arizona Cardinals bolstered their receiving core in a big way!
The team announced that they have acquired wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and a 2022 third round pick (100th overall) from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Subsequently, the Ravens ended up trading the 23rd overall pick they received in the deal to the Buffalo Bills. The Bills then used the pick to select cornerback Kaiir Elam out of Florida.
Brown, 24, recorded 195 receptions, 2361 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns over a span of 46 games and three seasons with the Ravens from 2019-2021.
