The Cleveland Indians believe in Terry Francona and Francona wants to continue building on his success with the organization.
The team confirmed Wednesday that have signed the 59-year old manager to a two-year contract extension that will keep him locked up through the 2022 MLB season.
Francona, whose current contract was set to expire after this season, was initially hired by the Indians in November 2012.
During his tenure in Cleveland, he has posted a combined 545-425 regular season record, and been to the postseason four out of a possible six seasons, including a World Series appearance in 2016.
